Junior Program Director (Community Leagues & Schools)
Trainee Internship (Unpaid)
Location: SoCal Reds FC
Reports To: Director of Recreational & Community Programming


Position Overview

The Junior Program Director (JPD) is a trainee internship role designed to support the
growth, operations, and community engagement efforts of SoCal Reds FC’s foundational youth programs. Working closely with club leadership, the JPD assists in expanding participation, strengthening retention, and increasing visibility across Junior Reds, Mini Reds, and school-based initiatives.


This hands-on opportunity provides exposure to program development, marketing, sales outreach, event management, and youth leadership pathways. The JPD plays a key
support role in executing camps, clinics, recreational leagues, and community
activations while helping build strong relationships with players, families, schools, and
local partners.


Core Areas of Involvement

  • Support participation growth and retention initiatives for entry-level programs

  • Assist with marketing campaigns, promotional offers, and grassroots outreach

  • Help coordinate seasonal planning, schedules, field logistics, and equipment distribution

  • Support volunteer recruitment, coach and youth referee pathway initiatives

  • Assist with PlayMetrics administration, communications, and operational systems

  • Contribute to community events and mascot activations

  • Help track program performance metrics and support data-driven growth strategies


This internship is ideal for individuals pursuing careers in sports management, youth
development, marketing, or community programming who are eager to gain practical
leadership experience in a dynamic club environment. Interns will develop skills in
operations, strategic planning, community engagement, and program execution while
contributing to the growth and impact of the SoCal Reds player pathway.


Sports Event Mascot – “Sid” the Seagull

Location: SoCal Reds FC
Reports To: Director of Recreational & Community Programming
Position Type: Part-Time / Event-Based (Weekdays & Weekends)


Position Overview
SoCal Reds FC is seeking an energetic, outgoing, and reliable individual to serve as our
official club mascot, Sid the Seagull. The Mascot will represent the club at games,

community events, school visits, camps, clinics, and special appearances, creating an
exciting and memorable experience for young athletes and families.


This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with children, has high energy, and is comfortable performing in costume to engage crowds and promote school spirit.


Key Responsibilities

  • Wear the Sid the Seagull mascot costume at games, camps, school visits, and community events

  • Interact enthusiastically with children, families, and staff

  • Lead cheers, participate in on-field activities, and energize crowds

  • Support promotional events, grassroots outreach, and club activations

  • Take photos with players and families

  • Assist with event setup and breakdown as needed

  • Represent SoCal Reds FC in a positive, professional manner at all times


Qualifications

  • Outgoing, energetic, and comfortable performing in costume

  • Enjoys working with youth in community and sports settings

  • Reliable and punctual for scheduled events

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and select special events

  • Physically able to wear and perform in mascot costume for extended periods

  • Prior mascot, performance, or youth event experience is a plus

Operations Coordinator Assistant

Position Summary

SoCal Reds FC is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Operations Coordinator Assistant to support the planning, execution, and evaluation of tournaments, games, and club events. This role is designed for someone eager to grow in sports management, operations, and nonprofit fundraising while working within our EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) framework and our SoCal Reds FC DNA — Ambition, Commitment, Dignity, and Unity.
 

Key Responsibilities:

Operations & Logistics

  • Contribute to day-to-day club operations including scheduling, communication, and program execution

  • Support inventory, uniform/equipment distribution, and field coordination

  • Collaborate with coaches, admin staff, and volunteers to ensure smooth game-day and event experiences

 
Fundraising & Community Engagement

  • Help implement and track fundraising initiatives such as our Annual Golf Tournament and school-based drives

  • Work with sponsors, donors, and partners to maximize community impact

  • Assist with donor follow-up, data tracking, and report creation

  • Project Management within EOS

  • Participate in weekly L10 meetings, document Rocks and milestones

  • Use tools like Ninety.io and project trackers to align work with quarterly and annual goals

  • Collaborate across departments to meet organizational and community benchmarks

Event & Tournament Support

  • Assist with the planning and coordination of SoCal Reds FC tournaments, league games, and community events

  • Manage logistics including venue setup, staffing equipment, and scheduling

  • Support event registration, communication, and customer service for participating teams and families

  • Oversee and attend school events including jogathons, trunk or treat, school fundraisers and back to school nights
