Salary: $62,683 per year

About the Role

SoCal Reds is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Youth Soccer Coach to join our coaching team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to inspire and develop players aged 3–17 years, fostering technical growth, tactical awareness, and a lifelong love for the game.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging, progressive training sessions, demonstrate excellence in player development, and uphold the club’s values of professionalism, teamwork, and community connection.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver progressive, age-appropriate sessions for boys and girls.

  • Create a challenging, positive, and development-focused environment.

  • Oversee all match day preparations, including team selection, warm-ups, and in-game management.

  • Identify and recruit talented players within and beyond the club.

  • Provide constructive feedback to players and parents on performance and progress.

  • Deliver school and community programs, including after-school and outreach sessions.

  • Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect among all participants.

  • Complete administrative and operational tasks, including weekly team emails and meetings.

  • Participate in the club’s coach mentoring program, supporting ongoing staff development.

  • Analyze match play and training data to inform individualized development plans.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Sports Coaching (minimum 2:1 classification).

  • FA Coaching Level 1 Qualification (or equivalent).

  • Minimum 2 years of football coaching experience in Europe.

  • Minimum 5 years of customer service experience, demonstrating strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

  • Proven experience teaching physical education to children across various age groups.

  • Extensive background in the following areas:

    • Sports Science – Applying sport science principles to understand player physiology and optimize training adaptations.

    • Coaching Pedagogy – Utilizing diverse coaching methods to effectively teach and develop young athletes.

    • Performance Analysis – Analyzing match footage and player data to refine training sessions and enhance performance outcomes.

    • Community Engagement – Promoting soccer participation across all ages and abilities, and developing inclusive youth programs.​​
